Starbucks Collaboration

YWCA KL is excited to embark on a collaboration with the CSR Department of Starbucks Malaysia, in upcycling their flavorlock coffeebag material into stylish pouches in an effort to reduce landfill waste. Sewn by The Y Sewing Network - which include our students, graduates and various sewing groups from the B40 community such as Desa Mentari Ladie's Craft, the project is envisioned to help provide income-generating opportunities for the sewers while empowering them alongside the public and organisations to contribute towards saving our environment. Here are some shots of our first pouch training workshop for Desa Mentari Ladie's Craft. We hope to benefit more women and expand our sewing movement in time to come!
