Do check out our program gallery for more details of our projects and programs!

THE Y BAG MAKER PROGRAM

The Y Bagmaker is a social enterprise initiative under which women from the B40 community sew remnant fabric and materials into functional, beautifully designed bags and pouches. This special project enables them to work from home and earn an income for their families.

Remnant materials are saved from the landfill in the process, and are matched with care by our creative volunteers. Today, the Y Bagmaker team includes VTOC graduates and women’s groups such as Desa Mentari Ladies’ Craft — women who are building sustainable livelihoods through creativity and craftsmanship.

The vision is simple yet powerful:
A movement of women supporting one another to build skills, generate income and shape better futures — for themselves, their families and their communities.

MENTOR MENTEE PROGRAM

The mentor-mentee program at YWCA KL offers invaluable benefits for both participants.

Mentees gain guidance, support, and practical advice from experienced mentors helping them navigate personal and professional challenges. Meanwhile, mentors have the opportunity to share their knowledge and foster the next generation of leaders, creating a positive impact the community.

This program not only strengthens relationships also empowers individuals to reach their full potential.
