Open workshop- Brunch & Munch
On the 2nd of May 2018, YWCA had an amazing time organizing a brunch party with our Culinary & Baking students of the VTOC and some of our club members. A great time of fellowship together over good food prepared by our own students, we got the chance to try the delicious spicy tom yam soup. -COOKOUT COMPETITION- As the finale to the Urban Farming workshop series, 3 teams battled it out to win a cooking competition for guest judges (including jazz singer Junji Delfino), using ingredients harvested from the urban farm. VTOC girls enjoyed an enlightening day of digital and manual crafting at the MEREKA Explorer Program by Biji-Biji, Publika. Two sessions saw the students experience a range of fields from fashion, metalsmithing, programming, branding, virtual reality painting, energy and more! VR Program: Sentul Adventures - Art Jam at Refinery Gallery, Dignity Cafe & KLPac
Over the school holidays some students went for an Art Jam session at Refinery Art Gallery in Sentul. They had an introduction to art by Japanese artist Sanae Yamada before being provided canvases and paints for their own works of art. Dinner at Eat X Dignity Cafe was followed by an evening stroll at KLPac. Our appreciation goes out to Acappella KLCC Suites for their sponsorship of transport for the day.

Farm-to-Table Cookout with Darren Teoh, Dewakan Restaurant
A big Thank You to Eats Shoots & Roots and chef Darren Teoh of Dewakan Restaurant for spending the morning with our Culinary & Bakery students at VTOC, as they literally reaped the fruits of their labour! This penultimate workshop of the Eats Shoots & Roots series saw a range of vegetarian dishes prepared using ingredients harvested from the Edible Garden built by the students over the last few weeks. VR Program: Mobile Film-making Workshop with Rocketfuel Entertainment
On February 28th, seven of our VTOC students had the privilege of attending a Mobile Film-Making Workshop organised by Make It Right Movement & Brickfields Asia College. A collaboration between MRIM and Rocketfuel Entertainment, the workshop provided the basics of filming, hands-on assignments and even a session on creativity and coming up with story ideas. GE Aviation Facility Site Visit

Social Enterprise Project 1#
Last December saw the VTOC Sewing & Tailoring class launch our new Social Enterprise: the creation of an Origami Bag Series, in collaboration with a local designer Lindsey Ong. The students went through the product creation process of prototyping, production, and a simulation of a professional photoshoot where they had the opportunity to model their own handbags. Last November, a charcoal drawing class was conducted by local artist Chuah Shu Ruei with our VTOC students. The girls were introduced to technical aspects of charcoal drawing, shading techniques and more. The girls were really blessed by the session and we hope to organise more classes in the future!

Social Enterprise Project 2#
Christmas was around the corner and the VTOC Culinary and Baking Class of 2017 prepared marbleised cookies for sale! A variation of shortbreads were created with an industrial finish theme - ranging from matcha flavors, earl grey, almond and dark chocolate. The girls had a ball working with the marbleised effects!
